Writing on technical topics is not easy. In order to be successful, you need to know your audience.

Some audiences require that you translate complex technical detail to higher-level concepts so that you don’t need a computer science degree to understand what is going on. An example of that is here.

Other times, you will be targeting technical audiences. In these posts you need to deliver the technical goods. Remember that just because someone understands Java doesn’t mean a post will teach them JavaScript by dumping technical details on their head. These too require a teaching voice that helps establish common ground and teaches patiently throughout the post, never going too fast or too slow. An example of that is here.

If you are a software company or build technical tools for companies, you know that techies can be a hard sell. They understand technology, so you can’t just make stuff up and expect them to believe it. However, if you write engaging content that shows your expertise on the subject while convincing them you know your stuff, you win their respect. When you win their respect, they advocate. Then decision makers listen and pull out their credit cards.

I help software companies turn their audience from visitors to customers by creating and delivering compelling multi-media content.

You don’t have to take my word for it. Here the comments of some happy customers.

As an editor, I find Justin to be a blogger with a mature, professional writing style that’s easy to understand from the get-go. And as the owner of a content business, I value Justin for the wide range of topics in his wheelhouse and his dependability. In both capacities, I’m delighted to have found a writer of his caliber, and I think anyone looking for content will feel the same.

Running a technically-focused content agency, finding good authors who submit on time can be like herding cats. Justin refreshingly breaks that mold. He delivers posts on time, reliably, and he can speak to a wide range of personas, from individual techies all the way up to the C-suite. I highly recommend him for your content needs.
